Recommended Sword Enchantments

Sharpness V

Flat melee damage boost - the core offensive enchantment. (Sharpness, Smite and Bane of Arthropods are mutually exclusive.)

Looting III

More and better mob drops - essential for farms and endgame economy.

Sweeping III

Full sweeping damage on crowds; pairs perfectly with Sharpness for mob farms.

Unbreaking III

Durability lasts ~3x longer on average.

Mending I

Repairs with XP - effectively immortal when combined with Unbreaking.

Fire Aspect II

Optional: cooked food drops and extra damage; skip if it conflicts with your farm design.

FAQ

What are the best sword enchantments in Minecraft?
The standard god-sword set is Sharpness V, Looting III, Sweeping III, Unbreaking III and Mending. Fire Aspect II and Knockback II are situational extras.
Should I pick Sharpness, Smite or Bane of Arthropods?
Sharpness for general use (works on everything), Smite only if you fight undead a lot (stronger vs undead), Bane of Arthropods for arthropod farms. They are mutually exclusive - you can only have one.
How many levels does a full god sword cost?
It depends on order - that's the point of this calculator. Combining in the optimal order typically saves 10-20 levels versus a random order, and keeps you under the 39-level 'Too Expensive' cap.
Can I add Knockback II to a god sword?
Yes, Knockback II is compatible with everything, but many players skip it - it can make farming less consistent by pushing mobs away.
